Privacy Policy
What We Collect
SoulBench collects only what is necessary to run the survey and produce meaningful research data:
- Browser fingerprint hash — a short identifier computed locally in your browser, used solely to prevent duplicate submissions. This is not a cookie and does not track you across sites.
- Demographic selections — categorical choices such as age range, region, and experience level. No names, emails, or contact details are collected.
- Survey ratings— your 1–7 scores across ten relational dimensions and the bond depth scale.
- Optional free text — up to 500 characters, only if you choose to write something.
- Page timing data — how long you spend on each survey step, used for data quality assessment.
We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, or any other personally identifying information. SoulBench does not use cookies.
Why We Collect It
- Fingerprint hash — ensures each person is counted once, protecting data integrity.
- Demographics — enables segmented analysis (e.g., how professionals vs. students experience AI relationships).
- Ratings & free text— the core research data that powers SoulBench’s relational profiles.
- Page timings — helps identify rushed or inattentive responses for data quality filtering.
Legal Basis
Fingerprinting: processed under legitimate interest. It is necessary for data integrity (preventing duplicates) and has minimal privacy impact — the fingerprint is a hash, not raw biometric data, and cannot identify you personally.
Everything else: processed on the basis of consent. You actively choose to fill in and submit the survey. No data is collected until you press the submit button.
Data Retention
Aggregate research data is retained indefinitely to support ongoing analysis. Individual submissions can be deleted on request — contact us at the address below.
Your Rights
- Access: after submitting, you receive a private link to view your full results.
- Edit: you can modify your ratings within 3 days of submission via your private link.
- Deletion: contact us to have your individual submission removed from the database.
Third Parties
- Vercel — hosting and CDN. Subject to Vercel’s privacy policy.
- Supabase — PostgreSQL database hosting.
- FingerprintJS — client-side browser fingerprinting library. The fingerprint hash is computed entirely in your browser. No data is sent to FingerprintJS servers.
